“Maa” meaning mother, and “disha” meaning direction, the company name was created to relate how the mother goddess will lead you on a unique path through life.

 

Ayurveda
“Ayur” meaning life, and “veda” meaning knowledge, ayurveda literally means the knowledge of life. In existence for over 5,000 years, Ayurveda is an ancient form of holistic medicine rooted in Indian culture. 

 

Vata
One of the three life energies, made up of the air and space elements. An imbalance of Vata can cause up to 80 different diseases mostly linked  to pain, such as emphysema and arthritis.

 

Pitta
One of the three life energies, made up of the fire and water elements. An imbalance of Pitta can cause up to 40 different diseases linked to  the feeling of burning, such as heartburn.

 

Kapha
One of the three life energies, made up of water and earth elements. An imbalance of Kapha can cause up to 20 different diseases, and is related to a feeling of itchiness.

 

Dosha
Made up of  the three life force energies that govern the body: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.  An imbalanced Dosha can negatively affect one’s health.  

 

Organic
Ingredients that are grown without the use of artificial methods and chemicals, such as synthetic pesticides or genetic modification.

A type of preservative commonly found in personal care products that has been linked to cancer in recent studies.
