Do you ever find yourself saying you’ll do something tomorrow? Better yet, do you ALWAYS find yourself saying that? Motivation tends to slip away when we are tired or busy. However, THINK of your negative inner voice as a speed bump, NOT a stop sign. Focus on why it should get done in the first place (because it will feel AWESOME!). Here is some advice to help fight through the excuses:
- Start your day with a nice, warm cup of water with lemon. It is highly refreshing and works as a natural cleanser. It will also encourage you to make wise food choices throughout the day. These healthy choices will lead to more energy and positive vibes.
- Get moving! If you’re sitting at a desk all day, it’s extremely important to get up and stretch. The lack of movement can cause aching and soreness throughout your body. If you feel uncomfortable doing this in your cubicle for all to see, take a walk to the bathroom or head outside for a few minutes to catch some fresh air.
- Mark it down! We make appointments with our doctors, so do the same with your extracurricular activities. Set a time to go to the gym or to meet a friend for a walk/run. Scheduling will make it more likely to happen.
- Keep track and look back! Get a journal and write about your hobbies/exercises. Write the time you started and how long it took you to complete. Lastly, summarize how you felt afterwards. As you go on, you’ll be able to look back and see where you are making progress or where you would like to see change.
